Alisa Jaffe Holleron, LCSW, creator of the Live Oak Center, is an experienced psychotherapist who has deep respect for human beings and the difficulties that arise in our lives. She believes that the challenges we face are opportunities to mature into ourselves, so that we can live life with more vitality, joy and meaning. Alisa emphasizes mindfulness, self-acceptance and compassion in her work with individuals, couples and families. She is the author of "An Unexpected Journey: The Road to Power and Wisdom in Divorced Co-Parenting" the companion book to the class that she developed and teaches. Her engaging, open-minded, humorous and accepting style is appreciated by her clients and group participants.

Donna Hoenig-Couch, MSW, ASW has a fulfilling career in education and public service and eagerly joins the team as an intern at Live Oak Center. With a strong dedication to the principles of ethical social work practice and a firm and lasting belief in the value and promise of every human being, Donna brings professional and personal energy, insight and experience to her work. Inspired by Buddhist practice where there is a strong emphasis on compassion, she offers to walk alongside others in the journey toward understanding that we can make choices in life to become more fully alive. Donna studied Philosophy, taught elementary school, and raised a family on the northcoast of California. She has worked in the State Legislature, and developed and directed college graduate studies. Donna earned the MSW from Sacramento State, and is currently fulfilling hours toward licensure.

Susan Simpkin, PsyD, brings to her clinical practice 35 years of experience in El Dorado County as a classroom teacher and school counselor. She has helped children, adolescents and families with life issues such as loss, divorce, depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, identity challenges, low school achievement, poor social skills development, ADHD, parenting struggles and family trauma. She has extensive training in, and a deep understanding of diversity and issues related to bullying. Dr. Simpkin believes that each of us has personal strengths that, when utilized, help us problem solve, improve interpersonal relationships and find our own most productive and enlivening path. She provides a safe, nurturing environment in which honesty, exploration and personal investment can yield a more satisfying and meaningful life.

Sara Collette, LMFT, works with individuals, couples, and families providing therapy to address a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, uncontrollable or overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulties, family conflict, and low self esteem. Sara strives to equip people with the skills they need to relate to themselves and others in a manner that fosters emotional wellness and satisfying successful relationships. For fun, Sara enjoys going to the beach, watching sports, and spending time with her husband and son.

Sheryce Allendorf, MSW, ASW, enjoys working with children, adults and families from all walks of life. She is currently working on her hours toward licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Sheryce has extensive experience as a social worker with many different agencies including Sierra Child and Family Services, El Dorado County Health and Human Services, and The Center for Violence Free Relationships (formerly El Dorado Women's Center). Sheryce’s philosophy is that children and families are doing their best and already have the solutions to the issues they currently face. She sees herself simply as an aid to help them realize those solutions. Sheryce’s calm, gentle and compassionate demeanor creates an environment in which clients feel safe and supported. Sheryce is trained in and passionate about Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, and is available to talk to clients about using it in their healing work.

Donna Cline, Program Manager brings over 15 years of marketing and sales program experience to the team. Her dedication to details, creativity and success keep the programs running smoothly. She has worked in a variety of office settings, large corporations, small start-ups, along with small and medium size businesses. Being task oriented, and resourceful contribute to her success and make her an indispensible part of the Live Oak team.
